today I hang a big note
on top of my bed
on top of my bed
so that I will be reminded
each time I read
each time I read
the note says "Pray",
in black ink, simple
in black ink, simple
in each circumstance,
give thanks ample
a mental note to self,
it looks like an epitaph, an inscription
written in a "scroll",
completes the imagination
at first I cringed,
isn't that a morbid thought
but wait it's a reminder
of The One, our "salvation" He brought
indeed my old self is dead
I would like to believe that is so
the epitaph it will remind me
of the death I have come to know.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." 2 Cor 5:17 (ESV)
ReplyDeleteI welcome the death of all my fleshly tendencies/old self and pray for the taking over of the Holy Spirit!
Thanks for that verse, my friend. So true. Looking at the pic after I snapped it, I saw the image of "death"-- and yes, the death of fleshly tendencies. And I rejoice that God allows us to renew ourselves --to die this death and be reborn as His new creation. Praise the Lord!
